WHEN LIFE CALLS FOR A CHANGE, JUST TRUST THE UNKNOWN

Trust the Unknown -

My morning today began with a simple thought, a desire to capture my feelings and share them in this blog. But as I powered on my laptop, the gentle sound of rain greeted me, an unexpected but joyful companion.

Like a child welcoming parents home from a long trip, I burst out the door, arms wide open, a smile stretched across my face. The excitement I felt was reminiscent of how I used to welcome my father back from a trip. That homecoming was always brimming with surprises; be it toys, books, or delicious treats; and the anticipation of his return filled our home with joy.

And in that same spirit, I whispered a heartfelt thank-you to the rain for visiting me again, right on cue, as though the universe had orchestrated it just for me.

Before the rain, I had prepared a cup of coffee, not out of habit but because I was simply in the mood for it that morning. Alongside it was a pastry I’d saved from last night, creating a combination too inviting to ignore.

It felt almost poetic, the pairing of rain, coffee, and the soft glow of my laptop, calling for introspection and storytelling. I thought to myself, "Can I indulge in both at once? Can I let the rain inspire my words as I savor these quiet moments?"

However, as I sat down to write, I realized my desk setup wasn’t ideal. It was placed against the wall to save space in my tiny living room. This arrangement left my back to the door, cutting me off from the beautiful scene unfolding outside. At that moment, I knew what needed to change.

With a little effort, I pulled the desk away from the wall, flipped my chair around, and faced the door. Instantly, the energy of the room shifted. Now I could see the rain-drenched greenery on my porch and the calming gray clouds that stretched across the sky. My heart felt lighter, and I felt connected, not only to the view but also to the act of writing itself.

Sitting there, it hit me: this was exactly the environment I had always longed for. A cozy space where I could write, sip coffee, and bask in the peaceful presence of nature. It is a dream turned reality.

Gratitude, then, washed over me like the rain on my porch, and I realized how perfect this moment was. This place, this weather, and this tiny home. It was all part of a larger plan, one I hadn’t fully appreciated until now.

That moment of gratitude made me reflect on the journey that brought me here. Just two months ago, I was preparing to leave the home that I thought I would stay for a long time until I leave this city or until I find a perfect place for me.

That house was actually perfect for me. It was a quiet, homey place tucked away at the end of a street creating its peacefulness away from a busy street. But life had other plans, and circumstances nudged me to move. And even though leaving was bittersweet, a part of me recognized this pattern: a rhythm in my life of being guided to new beginnings, even when the path wasn’t clear.

Over the years, I’ve noticed this recurring theme. But of course, every move has come with its fair share of emotions: confusion, worry, and the tiring cycle of packing and unpacking. Yet, amidst those challenges, I’ve felt a deep sense of trust and surrender. Time and time again, God has guided me to where I need to be. Even in moments of doubt, there’s been an unmistakable reassurance that I’m being led to the right place.

So, when I realized it was time to move again, I didn’t resist. I simply said a quiet prayer: “Guide me to where I need to be. Show me the path, and let me trust in Your plan.” And now, here I am. This house, smaller and humbler than my last, feels like it was waiting for me all along. It’s vibrant yet serene, a space that mirrors the simplicity and peace I craved.

I don’t know how long I’ll stay here, and I’ve learned not to dwell on timelines. For now, I’ll savor this chapter, letting it unfold naturally. When it’s time to move again, I’ll trust, as I always have, that I’ll be guided to where I need to be. Until then, I’ll keep dreaming of the day I find my ultimate nesting place, my dreamland.

As the rain continues its soft patter, I’ll sit here a little longer, enjoying the simple joy of coffee, a cozy space, and the knowledge that every step of this journey, no matter how uncertain, has brought me to where I need to be.

So, folks, if you find yourself relating to this journey, know that you’re not alone. Life is often unpredictable, and transitions can feel overwhelming, but trust that each step serves a purpose. Whether you’re searching for a new home, a career path, or even clarity in your personal life, have faith that you’re being guided. Embrace the uncertainty, allow yourself to grow, and find gratitude in every small blessing along the way. The path may not always be clear, but trust that it will lead you to exactly where you need to be.
