I turned off my computer with a sense of finality. “Let’s call it a day,” I murmured to myself, stretching my body and sinking back gently into the chair. Leaning back, I took a few deep breaths, allowing myself a moment of stillness.
The hum of the air conditioner blended with the soft symphony of the night - the rhythmic chirping of crickets, the occasional croak of frogs, and the faint pattern of lingering raindrops. Weird, though… I didn’t feel it like noise to my ears. Instead, it was a melody of nature, a spontaneous harmony that wrapped around me like a soothing balm. Could that be nature’s brainwave? I wondered.
Amidst this nocturnal orchestra, I felt a stirring within, a desire to invite something deeper, something that could complement and elevate the raw beauty of these sounds. So, I turned on my favorite Ho’oponopono music and let its healing vibrations mingle with the night’s ambiance.
I chose not to use earphones this time. I didn’t really intend to dive deep. I just wanted to bask into the evening atmosphere of peace and calmness.

The gentle melody soon filled the room, its soft rhythms embracing my mind as I closed my eyes and surrendered to its powerful yet soothing presence. This traditional Hawaiian practice of reconciliation, forgiveness, and restoring harmony works like a form of gentle magic. It’s as if a hidden switch within me is activated, and feelings long suppressed begin to flow, cascading like water breaking free from a dam.
The mantra of Ho’oponopono is deceptively simple: “I’m sorry. Please forgive me. I thank you. I love you.” As I follow the song’s lyrics, I focus intently on the emotions tied to a specific person, event, or situation. With each repetition, the mantra’s sincerity resonates more deeply, unraveling the knots of emotional tension. The practice transforms these phrases into a bridge, guiding me from pain to peace, from regret to gratitude.
A Lifelong Journey, Not a Chapter
It’s hard for me to pinpoint the exact moment my healing journey began. Perhaps that’s the beauty of it: life doesn’t segment itself neatly into chapters. Everything we experience is interconnected, one thread weaving into another, forming a continuous tapestry. So, maybe my healing wasn’t a separate journey after all. Perhaps it’s simply life—life unfolding with all its complexity.
That said, the past two years have brought a noticeable peak in this journey. Challenges arose that demanded I look inward and face myself with an honesty I hadn’t previously dared. These years became a time of intense growth, reflection, and, ultimately, renewal.
And now, I’ve made a profound decision: I am healed.

Declaring “I Am Healed”
It might sound audacious, even self-proclaiming, to state, “I am healed.” But for me, this declaration isn’t about achieving a final, flawless state. Healing, I’ve come to understand, is a lifelong process. What this statement signifies is my readiness to embrace life fully once more and to stop dwelling solely on fixing my past self and begin thriving in the present.
Without this declaration, I fear I might become trapped in the cycle of healing, obsessed with undoing every hurt and righting every wrong. This can easily turn the act of healing into self-punishment, a ceaseless endeavor that leaves no room for joy or forward motion. By saying “I am healed,” I acknowledge the hard work I’ve done, while granting myself permission to move forward, to chase my dreams, to nurture relationships, to live.

Healing as an Ongoing Process
Of course, there will be moments when life’s layers peel back to reveal wounds I’ve yet to address. In those moments, I will pause, just as I have in the past, to face what needs tending. But I will not linger indefinitely. Healing doesn’t mean denying that pain will revisit me; it means embracing a mindset where growth and forward motion coexist with moments of reflection.
Declaring myself healed is also a profound act of self-appreciation. It’s my way of saying thank you to myself for my patience, my resilience, my courage in walking this difficult path. Its gratitude extended not just inward but also upward, to God, whose guidance and grace I have felt throughout this journey. This declaration affirms not only that I have done the work but that I am ready to step into a brighter phase of life.

Thriving Beyond Healing
Today, as I listen to the soft strains of Ho’oponopono and let its words resonate within me, I feel a deep sense of peace. “I’m sorry. Please forgive me. I thank you. I love you.” These phrases have become my touchstones, grounding me in the present and connecting me to the beauty of life’s endless unfolding.
I am healed. Not because every scar has vanished but because I’ve learned to carry them with grace. Not because there will be no more challenges but because I am ready to face them without being weighed down by the past.
I am healed. And now, I am ready to thrive.
If you’ve ever felt stuck in the endless process of trying to fix yourself, take a moment to consider the possibility of declaring yourself healed. Trust that the process will continue as you move forward, but also allow yourself the freedom to live, love, and grow. You are worthy of peace and joy, right here and right now.
And when life gets overwhelming, perhaps try turning on some Ho’oponopono music, close your eyes, and let those four simple phrases remind you of the harmony waiting within.
